Notes from #indiwebcamp. Value proposition:
1. control your own identity by using your own domain name, instead of using somebody else’s (e.g. Facebook). Your identity is more important and long-term than your relationship to any one service provider.
2. use your domain to sign into websites. No need to create new accounts, new passwords. Reuses security investments of the large websites, instead of having to rely on smaller sites’ implementations.
3. publish on your own site, but marked up in a way so the content can be interpreted not just by humans but by machines. This allows your content to “flow” to other places where others can read it in addition to on your site. Encourage experimentation with “other kinds of places”.
