And today, I&#8217;m proud (?) to announce that it now contains 100,063 spam messages.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;\"><em>100,063 pieces of spam! All to me!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What is the world coming to. Two and a half years ago I wrote a piece called &quot;<a href=\"\/jernst\/Big_Picture\/e-mail-death.html\" target=\"_blank\">Death of e-mail?<\/a>&quot;, and unfortunately, my views haven&#8217;t had a reason to change on this since. We all hear lots of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/stories\/2004\/01\/24\/tech\/main595595.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">talk about grand plans<\/a> how the spam problem will be solved, but I can&#8217;t see much actual progress.<\/p>\n<p>My proposal from back was made prior to <a href=\"http:\/\/lid.netmesh.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">LID<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/yadis.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Yadis<\/a>, and so today I would write it in those terms. But the essence of it is still valid, I think.
