PC Forum is no more

Just came across this:

Just to make it official: PC Forum 2006 was our last one. It had a great run, from 1977 to 2006, and we decided to end it before anyone asked us to.

Founded by Ben Rosen back in the 70s, with early speakers including initial Apple CEOs Mike Markkula, Steve Jobs and John Sculley, Bill Gates and Mitch Kapor, Andy Grove and Rod Canion, it continued with heroes of today including Eric Schmidt, Marc Benioff, Paul Otellini, Mitchell Baker of Mozilla, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and many more. We’ve grown up with this industry and we love it – but last year’s Forum was as close to perfect as we think we could get. So we’re leaving while you still miss us!

I was fortunate enough to be a speaker twice — in 2005, and one of the discussion hosts in 2006 — and I will miss it. The particular combination of people that Esther was — well, is — able to assemble is just very unique and very interesting.

I hope that doesn’t mean that Esther is doing less to engage this community. We need more, not fewer, people like her!
